Mobile optimization, peer-to-peer fundraising and monthly giving – these were the hot trends in 2017. Which of these have will have staying power in 2018 and beyond? Where should you invest your limited fundraising resources for the best return on investment? Should you still be paying attention to social media and email? And what about our old favorites – major and planned giving? Start the new year off right – bring your questions, your success stories and your challenges to this discussion of Trends to Pay Attention to in 2018, facilitated by Maureen Mahoney Hill, CFRE, Principal of Advancement Advisors.
An Introduction to Planned Giving
Hosted by the Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management
at Robert Morris University
Wednesday, February 28, 2017
Bequests and other types of planned gifts are the lowest cost, highest value gifts nonprofits can generate. If planned giving isn’t part of your fundraising program, now is the time to start! In this session participants will learn why planned giving is important for every development program, how to identify planned giving prospects (they may not be who you think they are) and the simple techniques of a basic, easy to implement planned giving program that will work in any sized organization. In the afternoon the class will dive more deeply into the world of planned giving by exploring more complex types of gift vehicles, best practice for gift acceptance policies and effective marketing and outreach tactics. Leave this session ready to talk with your donors about planned gifts and increase dollars raised for your organization.
