Maureen Mahoney Hill, CFRE, is a seasoned fundraising professional with more than 25 years of experience. Drawing from her expertise raising funds for nonprofit organizations, Maureen established an independent consulting practice in 2006. Over the course of her career, she has raised more than $40 million and, as a consultant, she has helped clients raise more than $12 million.
As a Principal with Advancement Advisors, Maureen builds fundraising, communications and marketing capacity in nonprofit organizations. Her practice focuses on board training and development; coaching; planning and strategy development for major and planned gifts; fundraising plans; and, audits and feasibility studies.
Maureen is a sought-after speaker and trainer, frequently teaching through the Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management at Robert Morris University and the Nonprofit Resource Center at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.
Prior to beginning her consulting practice, Maureen was employed by The Children’s Institute, the Pittsburgh Foundation, Pennsylvania State University and Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh. In each setting she amassed a track record for developing fundraising programs and increasing donor contributions and involvement.
Maureen has continued to broaden her base of knowledge with conferences and coursework at the Nonprofit Summit, the Association of Fundraising Professional’s International Conference on Fundraising and The Institute for Charitable Giving’s Summit Seminar. She has been an accredited Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) since 1999 and in 2017 was awarded the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Master Trainer status. Maureen is an active member of AFP and a member of the Pittsburgh Planned Giving Council.
A Pittsburgh native, Maureen holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State and a Master of Science from the School of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh.
